After driving past Zachary's for years, I finally decided to stop in with some friends. The service we received was very friendly although it could have been faster. The restaurant itself is clean and a little stuck in the 90s, which I loved. The menu is pretty large and varied, but the reason I had been wanting to go is for the Greek! The lamb gyro was great, one of the best I've had so far, and if you love baklava like me, you'll want to try their baklava CHEESECAKE! Yeah, you read that right. It is something that Zachary's came up with and perfected, and it is oh so good. We had wine with our meal and it wasn't bad, I would order it again. The food didn't exactly get done fast, but even with a small wait it was worth it - well cooked, delicious and the portions we all received were much larger than expected. Can't wait to go back here again and try something else - if I can stop myself from ordering that delicious lamb gyro again!

Pretty decent Greek restaurant on the main drag in town. Meals are nicely priced and service is very warm and friendly. Since I love a good gyro, I've been back a couple of times. And it hasn't disappointed. The interior has a kinda of cafeteria feel, but the food is an excellent value. Really deserves 3.5 stars.

Not the place to go for a quick lunch. My wife and I decided to try it, as it was close to her work, and she has limited time. Seated fairly quickly, and drink orders taken. Took longer than it should have for our food order to be taken, which were simple. She ordered a Reuben and fries, I got the tuna melt with fries. After ordering, it was right around twenty minutes before the food came, after we asked about the delay. To their credit, the food had a really good flavor, and the tea was perfectly sweetened, southern style. No complaints about the taste at all. One odd thing........something that I did not personally see, but was told by my wife happened behind me. A couple that apparently couldn't wait, or only ordered waters, had two fresh water glasses sitting on the table when they got up and left. The waitress grabbed one of these and set it on someone else's table as a refill. I'm hoping that we missed a piece of this puzzle, and there is something that can put this in a proper context. If not, that's pretty disgusting.

Worst place. I can't even write a review about the food because it never came to our table. We ordered and waited for over a half hour and when we asked our waitress what was going on she rudely told me "not my problem, don't know what to tell you". We eventually left, after waiting 45 mins for eggs our stomachs couldn't take it anymore. The place is very dingy and dirty on top of it. We only went there because grills had a 45 min wait and this was the next closest breakfast place. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Terrible experience, terrible service.

Great tasting food. Delicious soup! April the waitress was attentive but not overly. Will be coming back. Way over priced on one poached egg. Would have had 5 stars except for the egg price.

Unbelievably flaky crust on the Spinach and Cheese pie with an incredibly tasty filling. Loved the way that the spices mixed with the cheesy filling. Mmmm. Salad was extremely fresh and flavorful. Even the French fries were crunchy flaky perfection. My wife ordered the same thing and we were both very pleased. Great service too.

Looking to get quick breakfast on Monday morning me and my hubby walked in and noticed about 10 people in restaurant 2 waitress walked by no good morning no hello ... not friendly at all...including the cook not a word of hello.... we stood there about 3 min still nothing my hubby got mad we just walked out!!!

I got the special 2 eggs, hash browns and a biscuit with coffee. That's a good buy. Only $5.49. I liked the NASA dedication wall :) long wait to be seated! Food was aveage! Much better here on Gulf Coast!!

We tried Zachary's on our way home from vacation. Very tasty! Our food was much better here than what we got at the Big Biscuit earlier in the week.

Very clean good food and very friendly service. Easy access. Nothing fancy just a small mom and pop sort of place. I would go back!

The food is ok; but if you work in the surrounding businesses and want a quick breakfast or to go...just know they wont take your debit/ credit unless its $10 or over and usually they can't break more than one $20 per to go order as they have the servers carry their own bank and no extra $ was on hand as I was just told picking up my 2 to go orders. That can make it inconvenient for office workers getting to go food as normally we have a debit card or a $20 from the atm. it is not the servers fault but the owners as they should be well aware of the clientele and be prepared and not put it all on the servers.

This place has really changed and for the better. Really nice staff, friendly & cheerful, and food is just down right good! Have been going to Zachary's since they opened decades ago but stopped about 2 years ago when I just couldn't take it anymore. For some reason, decided to give it a try today. As the other review mentions, there is something very different about the place. We stopped for breakfast and very good large omelettes. The hash browns are pan fried with a high quality oil that really adds to the taste. The restaurant is spotless, very good food, and an upbeat staff. The chef even comes out to make rounds and chat it up with the guests. Zachary's is now a role model of what a hometown diner should be.

Today was a great day for eating at Zachary's! As usual the two gals working the dining room were gracious, kind, on top of their game and, handled the dining room with ease. I give kudos to the cook today- the salads were fresh and ample as hoped for and expected. The hot food was as well ample in portion, fresh and served at the appropriate temperature-I like that. This restaurant is older and I find that to be a plus in this case......everything they do... is done right, they don't cut corners in their calm, patient, kind service or food quality. Each table of guests was treated kindly, unrushed, efficiently and enjoyed their food.

Ample parking, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I will come here again on our next vacation. I had the best gyro EVER!!

Really enjoyed our breakfast while on vacation. The hash browns were perfectly crispy and delicious. My eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs. Definitely a great stop for better-than-homemade eggs.

4 stars for the gyros 0 stars for the service 2 stars overall After a really long flight, an hour long van ride, and not being able to check into the Radisson next door, we found ourselves here for lunch. I kinda wished we hadn't... The service was AWFUL. So slow. The ceiling was leaking in three different places onto my mom. The bathrooms were disgusting. The only saving grace was that the food was edible. The gyros were really good and the fries were well-seasoned. That was honestly the only saving grace of this restaurant.

First, I have to say that the food that they make is very good, I was in a party of 5 and each had gotten something different and all five of us enjoyed our dishes The problem lays with the service, the waiters did not acknowledge us for about 4-5 minutes, and then we waited for a table, when there were clearly several open and clean for an additional 3 minutes. I also observed this not acknowledging customers for a unreasonable amount of time for every party that came inside the restaurant, during my visit The Staff looked severely under staffed, for a Sunday morning, this is completely unacceptable. To be short the staff were friendly but clearly under staffed and over worked. What I don't understand is the location is great it's always busy yet they insist on understaffing themselves. The kitchen provided us our food fairly quickly and with no errors and as i mentioned before, this food was great. I would recommend Zachary's Family Restaurant, that is if your expecting good food with half-decent service

  • Mark B.

Pros: Ample parking and a McDonalds across the St (if you are hungry and dont wish to drive any further) Cons: Unlike many other reviews the service was excellent, off course we where there prior to 5:00PM, and very few customers around. Ordered the signature dish Gyros Plate, and unfortunately the lamp gyro meat was prepackaged, pre sliced and void of taste. Normally I would give this place another chance but if you screw up the socalled special of any ethnic restaurant than no point going back for more punishment.

  • Marion R.

I could not believe how amazing the food was when we had dinner here last night. The fact that very few people were in here, while the McDonald's across the street, was packed is ridiculous! The village salad had a perfectly seasoned vinaigrette. The Mezedakia, a combination of gyro, lamb chops, spanakopita, stuffed grape leaves and tzaziki sauce could not have been better. Also surprising, was the great price on the Greek red wine. Try this place-you will love it!

Came here for bfrast. Price point is decent. I enjoyed the coffee. The Baklava was pretty okay too. Basic breakfast stuff but very clean environment and efficient and friendly waitress served us. Gets busy, lot's of parking though. I liked this place coffee better than Sunrise Diner. However, I liked Sunrise Diners homefries wayyyy better than here. Both breakfast price points are the same Sunrise Diner and Zachary's so it is really six and half a dozen. Bfast a bit tastier at Sunrise.....but the coffee I found better at Zachary's. That being said my husband didn't like Zachary's coffee at all - he couldn't drink it. So it was a pity as I enjoyed their coffee and that is why I don't go to Sunrise as I find their coffee is coloured water. I found Zachary's coffee not so watered down as Sunrise (not the best coffee at Zacharys I must admit - but far more decent than Sunrise Diner on 520)

We stayed at the Radisson next door to the restaurant for two nights before we cruised last month -- we went there for lunch the first day, liked the food so much, we went back two more times. Food was great, service was great - the fish and chips were AWESOME! Their breakfasts were cooked to perfection and the pancakes were light and fluffy. I highly recommend them!

HUGE menu, literally! It was like the size of a newspaper! I was there for breakfast so I didn't try the Greek food. I had the Country Fried Steak and eggs. Delicious crispy batter that didn't get sogged out under the gravy. Seasoning in the batter was good so it wasn't just a fried layer. Gravy was good too. Great place to have breakfast, coffee, and rest after a crazy debark from the cruise ship. Price was very affordable and portions were great! Servers were super friendly too!!

4 stars for their pancakes alone! The bacon is good and thick too! The staff is friendly as well.

Our morning off the cruise started with Zachary's breakfast. We were driving around near the port and wifey and I found this place. Thanks to Brigitte for the information about the restaurant. It's been open since April 23 1990. Brigitte was the nicest woman. While she served us she always had that smile and kindly asked what all the pictures were for. I explained I blog about local restaurants and she was glad to hear it. Thank you so much Brigitte for your warm welcome when we arrived. Mandy was also one of the greeters. Great smile on both of them. It must be a requirement to work there. Very clean place and well taken care of. Zachary's specializes in Greek cuisine according to their business card. This morning we were very pleased with the breakfast we ordered. Wifey ordered the corn beef hash, eggs, and hash browns. Wifey started eating corn beef hash when she met me and this one at Zachary's was great. Delicious. Mine was the House Supreme. Eggs, two bacon, two sausage, ham, and hash browns. As I always say, I gotta try a bit of everything. Their ham was very very good. If ever in the mood for a great breakfast keep Zachary's in mind. The local places that have been here for years have been here for a reason. It's just done right. Enough said.

We stayed at what was previously called the Ron Jon's resort at the port and ate breakfast and lunch at Zachary's. The prices were very reasonable. The food quality was good . Bathrooms were well stocked but not getting an a+ for cleanliness. Waitresses are responsive and polite. Both my husband and I got steak and eggs with hash browns (8.99) I got an extra side a sautéed spinach (2.95). I'm always happy to find real vegetables. We returned for lunch and my husband and I shared a greek platter with grilled meats ( lamb shank, chicken, gyro meat) and it came with a salad with feta/seasoned potatoes/tomato/cucumber as well as a wonderful tatziki sauce and crispy spinach pie and stuffed grape leaVes. This was definitely enough food for two and So yummy. Great greek selections as well as a varied menu, with something for everyone. The kids were very happy with kids meal choices. They have the crispiest French fries I have ever had. I'm not a French fry fan but I even considered ordering a plate.

Food- it was pretty good. Not great but it was good. I ordered the gyro platter. It came with green beans that were good. It had the taste of tomatoes and onion. The tazicki sauce was good and it compensated for the dry meat. I got the garlic mashed potatoes that were ok. Skip the gravy. It tasted like it was out of a can. Service - no complaints or issues.

Reviews looked good so we gave it a shot. Bad Idea. First the severs looked miserable to be there. Second the bathrooms (both) were disgusting and smelled like a port-o-potty. This is usually a bad sign. The coffee was disgusting; it tasted like reheated instant coffee. We ordered fruit cup for my daughter and I guess we should have said "fresh fruit"...what they served was old over-ripe mellon and grapes that sat in a pool of rancid smelling sour fruit water. When we asked to take it back we got no apology and the server said "Ill have to ask because I can't take things off the check"....Uh, okay well do what you have to do. My wife ordered a spinach omlet and asked for it to be well done "please". What we got was a omlet that was totally wet and soggy inside. We asked for a couple scrambled eggs instead....no apology.... and got 2 eggs that looked seriously like grits. When pressed, the sever admitted the omlets are all pre frozen. My omlet was OK. Nothing great for sure but thankfully, nothing horrid. Overall: Food: D- Service: F Cleanliness: D-

This place is a complete hit or miss. I have been there several times and had great service but on the next visit horrible service. Food is good, not great. When it's busy stay away, you will wait forever for service.

Stopped here for breakfast after cruise. Somewhat limited for options for breakfast. Food came out as ordered. Service slow but food good. Reasonably priced. Wouldn't go out if my way to stop here again.

  • Ernie C.

Just ok. Nothing special at all but disappointing for a family greek diner in terms of food quality. Gyro meat frozen and pre cut. Way over sauced and lots of onions. Not much meat on the pita. There at 130pm on a weekday. Almost empty. Service was fine.

Looking for a solid, reasonably priced breakfast joint? Zachary's is the best alternative to fast food breakfast, next to the pricey Radisson breakfast buffet or travelling miles to IHOP, Waffle House, etc.

    (4)
  • Rob W.

I like to grab breakfast here on the way to the beach. I really like the greek omelet with lamb and feta cheese. This place is not fancy, just a nice greek family run sort of spot, often times exactly what i'm in the mood for.

    (4)
  • Patrick H.

Only Ok. Got the house supreme breakfast. Everyone was really nice but think there are better options for breakfast out there.

Great pre cruise meal here. Sweet relief from chains! An independent restaurant which actually makes its food. Family friendly with an enormous menu of Greek and American cuisine. The spinach pie was amazing! Even my picky kid found something. Wish I had time to come back for breakfast too.

  • Philippe L.

Very friendly staff. Only had breakfast here, and it was basic but decent (better than most ihops). Prices are modest. On the negative side: their dishwasher doesn't seem to be working very well as the cups and plates were not perfectly clean.

  • Bill C.

The four of us wanted to try something new and glad we did. Zachary's has a distinctly Mediterranean feel and menu. Tons of menu items only seen in Greek restaurants. Menu was very large and varied: Charbroiled octopus appetizer (fantastic) to Baklava Cheesecake (also wonderful) desert. Service was a tad slow, but not bad enough to complain. Food that good is ALWAYS slower than Waffle House or McDonalds. Serving size was generous and the specials are a great deal. I thought the breading on the fried shrimp was way too thick, but the shrimp itself was the freshest, tastiest I've had in a long time.

Didn't eat the greek food, but we did have the breakfast. It was good, the staff were friendly. The place was moderately busy, so it was a nice place to have breakfast.

  • Katrina B.

Completely terrible service. They made us wait for an error to be fixed on their system for 30 minutes. A single mother with her kid. Didn t offer to comp our meal. Instead made us sit around. A waitress with short blonde hair was so nasty. While waiting to pay our bill for mediocre food she told my son I hope youre having fun on the window I just cleaned . I wanted to say something but I held back. Terrible staff, service, courtesy. You couldn t pay me to go back.

My family and I have never been here before and were looking for a place to eat breakfast. Based entirely on the reviews of others, we decided to try it out. We loved it. We will definitely be going back for the remainder of the week we're here. Also, the kids are asking that we try it out for dinner, too.

Super yummy. Before coming here, my bf and I were spoiled from eating at all hours of the day for free on the ship. So of course we were starving after we got off our cruise and getting a rental car down the street. The shuttle driver referred us to Zachary's since it was a block away. It was interesting because the restaurant and the menu had a bunch of Greek decor as well as Greek specialties. We were there at probably 7am so we ended up getting breakfast. I had an eggs Benedict, so yummy! It was huge and I wasn't planning on it being that filling so I also got a side of sausage links. We did end up taking our leftovers to go. But the staff was really nice and kept asking if we wanted a refill for coffee. By the time we left the line ended up being huge, so I would go early if you can. I love mom n pop breakfast places! Apparently so does everyone else. The parking lot is pretty large but I'm sure it gets filled at certain times of the day.

I stopped by here the night before a cruise. The atmosphere is simple booths and a few tables. If you want Greek food this is the place! I tried the Greek Combo plate and the Gyro Dinner. The gyro was your typical gyro and the Greek combo had some good flavors but I was disappointed about the stuffed grape leaves. I would order those again. Now when it comes to deserts this place has it going on! The baklava was amazing but the baklava cheesecake was out of this world! I will definitely come back for their deserts!

The day our second Disney cruise boarded we took our fellow travellers here for breakfast. We had stumbled upon this place a year ago, looking for a place to eat before boarding the ship. It turned out to be a non-chain diner owned by Greeks from the isle of Crete. It was just the same as last year. We had our German waitress who was quite sassy. Whereas everyone else had typical American breakfast items, I chose the gyro. Yes, it's not the best Greek food I've ever had, but where is this place? On the Space Coast. Not in NYC or SFO or LAX. Not even MCO. For that it's fabulous. Efcharisto poli!

  • Cynthia B.

Maybe lunch and dinner are better. The waitress assured me that the biscuits and gravy were "DELICIOUS! HOMEMADE!" Maybe, but someone's mama didn't teach them that biscuits should not be gummy and gluey and that sausage gravy should have FLAVOR, not just white paste with mushy lumps of tasteless boiled chunks. Coulda been Alpo chunks for all I could tell. And even Mr. Easy To Please thought his bacon and pancakes were "not good." The staff were very friendly, that's something at least.

I must first say that my current standard for greek food is The Great Greek in Studio City, CA. That being said, Zachary's is not "Great." It does fill the need for decent greek food on the Space Coast. At first glance, I didn't know they even served greek food. I heard that fact from a coworker. Anyway, I was pleased to find saganaki on their menu! It's one of my favorite appetizers. I followed with the gyro dinner, which was served with a greek salad, vegetables, and garlic mashed potatoes (that's a new one in terms of greek food). The salad and vegetables were decent, and the garlic mashed tasted like regular mashed potatoes. The gyro was tasty, but I think I'd order something different the next time. My friend had their lamb and she said she'd order it again. That's good praise considering she loves lamb. Zachary's is a decent choice and I would eat there again.

  • Matthew C.

The shrimp and scallops were large and fresh but the scampi could use an improvement in the flavor department. The kitchen was really slow despite that there were very few tables occupied. The prices I thought were high for the run down place with mediocre food, maybe its just me but for $15 an entree I expect fresh vegetables not canned. The service was decent, no complaints. Seems like the kind of place that would be good for breakfast.

We went here twice while staying at the cape. The burgers and the breakfast were good. I liked the lamb chops but the rest of the greek food was ok at best. The service was ok but felt like we were in Mel's diner (remember the old tv show with Flow). Overall it was ok and we would go there again for breakfast or burgers.

Recommended by the Radisson Resort staff next door. Only about 4 people inside when we arrived. We were a party of seven. The waitress was extremely nice but 4 of us got sick on the mushrooms and crabmeat. Would I recommend to someone else? No. The parking lot was empty which tells the story. We only went because we were going on a cruise the next day and did not have transportation to look elsewhere.

Love this place! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the service could be a little better.

A month or so ago I wanted to grab a quick breakfast, so I said to wife, let's try Zachary's again. I really just wanted 2 eggs and hash browns. So we went. Service was great, food was great. Something changed. So we went again, and today, one more time. I don't know what changed, but this is now a cool, quick good breakfast spot again. Very glad to see our local spot serving up good food with good service again. It's back on our 'easy to bike to' breakfast spots. But I do like my beverages in glass when I eat out. A plastic cup makes me feel like I'm in a high school cafeteria.

Exellent Greek dinner. Both for breakfast lunch and early dinner. I go often for breakfast when I am headed in and out of town. Convenient location Clean bathrooms and good food. That's what makes a good dinner. Lol

The food was mediocre at best but the waitress/service was terrible. I had to ask three times for ice water then was afriad to drink it she seemed so irritated with me for wanting it. After like a year of waiting she gave us our food which was Ok, but how could you mess up a chicken salad. Then, two years later she gave us our bill. It only took about three more years to get her to take our money. Best part... including us there was 6 customers and three waitresses. I cannot fathom why the service was so bad. Our waitress must really hate her job or us.

Ok, had to come back and change to 5 stars. My whole family loves this place. We come here almost everyday while on vacation. Always have good service, good varity and the food is excellent for the price. They have GREAT breakfast specials until 11:00 am everyday

June 12, 2015. 2 of us arrived at 11:10am. ....yes, we'll have coffee. Coffee arrived, placed order. Finished coffee. Refill offered....many minutes later fresh cup arrives. 1135am: older gentleman arrived...ordered....breakfast arrived a few minutes later(different waitstaff). As she passed she remarked, "Bet yer getting hungry." Even she noticed we had no food. 1150am: Breakfast arrived. Amazing! 40 min to cook a couple of eggs. We remarked that it seemed to take a long time, she didn't even seem to care....another 5-10 min to get the bill after asking for it. Left Zachary's at 1215pm for good! Jeez....never again.

The food was good and the prices were just right, we are vacationing from PA. The only things that I felt were bad were that when we walked in no one greeted us or acknowledged that we were standing there waiting. The second thing is that there is only 1 refill for coffee that is priced at 1.99. Otherwise our experience was great.

Very long wait not only to be seated but for our meal. Breakfast joints should be turn and burn but the staff were always running behind. Food was decent. Greasy. Won't go back.

Great service. Great meal. Enjoyed a midafternoon meal with my son. Between us we had the calamari, a Reuben, a gryo and a piece of baklava cheesecake. Everything was very good. The homemade tzatziki sauce was wonderful.

We were staying overnight next door to this restaurant and wanted a good diner breakfast. We waited at the door for 25 minutes before being seated even though a booth had been cleared shortly after are arrival. Once seated it took another 10 minutes for coffee. My wife ordered the Greek omelette with hash browns. The hash browns are house made and were good. The omelette would of been good if it wasn't for the egg shell in it. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were delicious. We were out of coffee before the meal arrive and we tried to get our waitresses attention, when we did it was because she came and asked us are we ready to order. Several other waitresses walked by with coffee several times with coffee for their customers. Looking at staff interaction during our visit I think that a better experience and less wait time could be achieved if the staff would work together.

Awful. I went with my family this morning. It was 9 adults and two kids. We sat immediately and ordered. Everything was fine until we were waiting for our food for 45 minutes. We noticed that three other tables that had been seated and ordered AFTER US were receiving their food. Our server came over and was refilling our coffee and we asked her very nicely (we weren't mad or anything and understand delays, especially for large tables)--we asked her very nicely if she knew the ETA for our food. She said "I sure don't." -- this is the point where things started to go wrong. "I sure don't"?! OK, then find out. But no, it wasn't "I don't. Let me find out" She just said "I sure don't." and walked away when done. 15 minutes after that conversation our food started to arrive. I had ordered two pancakes and two eggs. She brought it to the table and called out "short stack" and me, not being a graduate of Waffle House university, did not realize that short stack meant pancakes so there was a delay in my saying "Oh, that's mine" So when I did say" right here" she rolled her eyes in exasperation. To the food: Undercooked eggs. Biscuits that were not even warm and cold and stiff to the touch. My husband ordered four pieces of toast with his meal. She DROPPED TWO OF THEM on the floor when bringing him the food, THREW THEM OUT and did not even replace them?! We searched for her to refill our coffee because she didn't seem to be very good at that. I want to point out that we talked to her several times and told her the problems we were having with our service. She really did not care. Once we were done eating, she brought us the bill. She had handwrote in an auto-grat of 20%. I get the whole large table auto-grat thing, but really? She did not deserve 20%. She refused to even check the status of our meal and that really is the whole basis of her job! The manager was not there but we intend to call and speak with him this week. Stay away from this place, The other reviews are right -- these people are rude.
